While in-person Support Groups remain on hold in response to the COVID pandemic, virtual Support Groups for caregivers are being offered throughout much of Manitoba to ensure that you have access to support and information during these uncertain times.
Support Groups are being facilitated via Zoom technology.
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a web-based group conferencing tool, that allows users to meet online, with or without video. Zoom is easy to use, offers quality video and audio, and is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Blackberry thus allowing you to connect from anywhere with an internet connection.
Participants of the Fort Garry, St. Vital and Concordia Support Groups, will be invited to attend a virtual Support Group on:
Tuesday July 14th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Registration
Pre-registration to attend is required, as there are limited spaces available. Attendance will be on a first come, first serve basis.
To register, please forward an email including your full name and the date/time of the Support Group you are registering for to alzmb@alzheimer.mb.ca.
How do I join?
The host, or in this case the group facilitator, will send a meeting invitation via email following receipt of registration. This will include a link to the Zoom website, including a Meeting ID code and password. A few minutes prior to the time of the scheduled Support Group meeting, users may login by using the link provided, and by following the prompts on the screen.
Who facilitates the Support Groups?
Support Group meetings will be facilitated by Client Support staff, Regional Coordinators and/or volunteer facilitators.
