Ambiguous loss support groups are back this fall
Connect with other caregivers who understand this unique feeling of loss.

Ambiguous loss: living with unresolved grief
Caring for a person living with dementia can bring about some complex and unexpected feelings. Ambiguous loss is a unique type of loss and grief that many care partners will experience when a person with dementia is physically here but may not be mentally or emotionally present in the same way as before.
Our ambiguous loss support group can help you better understand this complex grief and loss, providing you with coping strategies and connecting you with others who understand. Participants will engage in discussion with trained facilitators and other group participants to:
- Develop an understanding of the concept of ambiguous loss and how this unique type of loss differs from other losses
- Learn about coping strategies to implement in your own life
- Explore your own experiences of grief related to caring for a person living with dementia
- Learn from others on adjusting to the losses and engage in self-reflection and share insights related to your caregiving experience
Please note: Groups will run for eight consecutive weeks. A minimum number of registrants is required for groups to run as scheduled.
