Let No One Be Alone Week (May 3 – 9, 2026)
We can all help reduce social isolation and loneliness through small, simple steps.
Stay connected & support your brain health
Let No One Be Alone Week is a grassroots initiative started in Manitoba to help bring awareness to the social isolation and loneliness older adults face, which can have an impact on both mental and physical health.
Isolation is one risk factor of dementia, and can also be a challenge for those navigating the disease, due to the stigma and lack of understanding that surround it. Keeping connected and getting out into your community is so important for overall health and quality of life. Feeling seen, heard and valued is something everyone deserves. Let No One Be Alone Week is a great reminder that our connections matter.
You can read more about the impact of social isolation and loneliness, specifically for older adults and care partners, by visiting the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health website.

Prescription for Connection challenge
This year, Let No One Be Alone is challenging Manitobans to fill a “prescription” for connection. This printable checklist provides prompts to help you feel connected, including ideas like:
- Invite someone for a coffee visit
- Go for a walk with a neighbour or friend
- Send a card, message or small gesture of kindness
If you complete five acts of connection before May 15, you have the opportunity to enter a draw for a $100 gift card through the Let No One Be Alone Facebook page.
