A message from our CEO: We are stronger together

You don’t have to face dementia alone — the Alzheimer Society is here to help.

Erin Crawford, CEO Alzheimer Society of Manitoba

You are not alone.

A dementia diagnosis can be one of the most frightening moments in a person’s life. The questions come quickly: What happens next? Where do we turn? How do we cope? This is where we come in.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, caring for someone or further along in the progression — we listen, we understand your needs and we connect you with the resources and expertise you need to face the path forward with confidence.

Often, people don’t realize how much support is available until they reach out to us. When they do, we hear the same thing: “How would we have done this without you?”

Our one-to-one support, education sessions, support groups and dementia-friendly programs help you grow your knowledge of this disease, share your thoughts and experiences and connect with others who have been where you are.

If you’re not ready to reach out just yet, I invite you to join us at one of our upcoming Walks across the province this May and June.

It’s a chance to experience the strength of community, find hope and see that you are truly not alone.

Support is here for you when you need it.
