“I’m looking forward to getting to know more families affected by dementia as we continue growing our presence in the community. We’re here to offer support, resources and a welcoming space for anyone impacted by dementia. We want families to be aware that support is available close by. I encourage people to drop by the office any time, even if it’s just to say hello.”

Carly will help raise awareness of the office and the services offered to people in the area. She will support local families through support groups, education sessions, community outreach and by being a trusted person to lean on for guidance.

More than 20,300 Manitobans live with dementia today – a number expected to reach 39,100 by 2050. With this number growing, it’s more important than ever to bring further support to Manitoba.

“We want everyone to know that if you are experiencing dementia in your life – whether you are worried about dementia, experiencing symptoms, recently diagnosed, further in the progression, a care partner, family or friend – the Alzheimer Society is here to listen and help guide you through your next steps,” says Carly. “The Alzheimer Society is here for you, so you don’t have to go through it alone.”

The public can visit Carly at the Steinbach office at 385 Loewen Blvd, Steinbach or contact her at 204-326-5771 or cross@alzheimer.mb.ca.
