Support Group for Spouses of People Living with Dementia

Adjusting to the changes of living apart.

This group offers the opportunity to meet and share information about your experiences of caring for someone living with dementia who has transitioned into long-term care. Conversations focus on the unique challenges you face as your role changes and you adjust to living separately from your spouse.

How this group can benefit you

These meetings offer a supportive and confidential environment where you can:

  • Learn from others caring for someone with dementia
  • Share personal thoughts about your experiences
  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of various coping strategies
  • Exchange mutual support with other care partners in a similar situation

This group can also help you feel less isolated and decrease feelings of grief that can be associated with moving a spouse into long-term care, maintain positive self-esteem and well-being and cope with changes in your role and relationship with your spouse.

When does this group meet?
