National Volunteer Week 2026
Join us in celebrating our dedicated and inspiring volunteers!
Welcome to National Volunteer Week
Our volunteers are a huge part of the work we do at the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. We are so thankful for our amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to families living with dementia in Manitoba.
From running our programs and support groups to helping make our events so memorable, our volunteers are the heart of our organization. Whatever your role, we truly appreciate the support you give to those affected by dementia. We couldn’t do it without you!
Make sure you’re following us on Facebook & Instagram this week as we share the impactful stories of some of our volunteers.
Creating a difference through volunteering
Volunteering just a few hours a week can make a lasting impact for those navigating dementia.

Christine is a Minds in Motion volunteer
“It is both inspiring and enlightening to hear about the life experiences of participants and to recognize the contributions they have made to our community.”

Sharyn is a support group volunteer
“It means a lot to me to see care partners leave those group meetings feeling better than when they came in. It’s fulfilling – to lighten their hearts or minds and come away from group knowing they’re more empowered as care partners.”

Claire is a Gala & Walk volunteer
“Volunteering for the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba for the last 15 years has allowed me to give back to a cause close to my heart.”
