Join others who know what it’s like to lose someone living with dementia.

Bereavement: dementia & the grieving process

There is something unique about dealing with the loss of someone who lived with dementia. Often, care partners have already been losing this person slowly, and then, when they are physically gone, the loss can be further complicated by other feelings that may not have been resolved.

Our bereavement support group helps you work through these intricate and confusing feelings in a safe space led by facilitators who have the knowledge and expertise needed to understand the complications dementia brings to the grieving process. Through this support group, you will:

  • Move through feelings of grief and loss that are experienced when someone living with dementia passes away
  • Share your thoughts and emotions relating to your grief and loss
  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of various coping strategies
  • Exchange mutual support with other caregivers who have recently lost someone

Please note: Groups will run for nine consecutive weeks. A minimum number of registrants is required for groups to run as scheduled.
