Westman open house: building community through connection
Finding a community of support
This Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the Westman region’s very own ‘Coffee Ladies’ are a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and connection.

Brought together through Minds in Motion, support groups and volunteer work, this group of women formed a caring friendship though their shared experiences. Each is a care partner to someone living with dementia, so they can support one another through a deep, mutual understanding of what it’s like to face this disease.
Finding a community like this can provide you with a sense of reassurance that you are not alone, and can give you a safe place to turn to when you need support. Despite only knowing each other for a short time, these women were able to do just that.
Join us at our open house
If you live in the Westman area, we invite you to join us at our open house on January 28 — Alzheimer’s Awareness National Day of Action — as we come together to show support for those living with dementia and help reduce stigma.
Drop in any time on Wednesday, January 28, between 9 am – 4 pm at the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Westman Office, Unit 4B – 457-9th St, Brandon, MB.
If you are impacted by dementia and don’t know where to start, this is a good opportunity to drop by, learn more, access support and connect with others. We look forward to seeing you there!
For more information about the open house, please contact the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Westman Office at 204-729-8320.
