Ambiguous Loss Support Group

“Ambiguous loss is a type of loss you feel when a person with dementia is physically here, but may not be mentally or emotionally present in the same way as before. This is very different from the loss and grief of sudden death, as an example, where you clearly know that the person is gone.” – Alzheimer Society of Canada

Our Ambiguous Loss support group is an 8-week program helping care partners who support people with dementia navigate various topics surrounding the term. Throughout these sessions, participants will deep dive into important issues such as self-care, loss, feeling through emotions such as shame and guilt and arranging the affairs on behalf of their loved one living with dementia.

The Summer 2021 session is currently closed.
