We invite you to the book launch for, “The Meaning of Home” by 11-year-old Valentina Virviescas-Medina.

*The book will be sold for $20.00. Please bring cash or cheque only.

The author will sign books during the event. Profits from the book will be donated to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba to contribute to fighting this disease.

About the book and author

This book is about a boy named Sam. Sam is a careless kid, he doesn’t like school and just cares about his problems and needs. But, one fun day with his cousins turns his life into a nightmare. What he doesn’t know is that this journey will teach him The Meaning of Home.

Valentina Virviescas-Medina was born on March 18, 2004 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She loves writing, drawing and painting. She also has special interest in fishing, swimming and playing water polo in her club. She likes sports such as basketball, volleyball and skiing which she practices. She enjoys singing, dancing, and playing with friends. Valentina also loves taking pictures. One of them was recently selected as the picture of the day by CTV News. Furthermore Valentina loves cooking, baking and making ice cream. Valentina is trilingual; she speaks and writes English, Spanish, and French and willing to learn more languages. During the last five years she has volunteered in many programs for non for profit organizations. Some of her free time is used to play with her brother Sebastian and her family.
